Dr. Schechter attended Towson University in Baltimore before moving to Philadelphia, where he completed his optometric degree at Pennsylvania College of Optometry. While at PCO, Dr. Schechter completed an Advanced Studies course in the area of contact lenses where he focused on fitting specialty contact lenses.
In addition to contact lenses, Dr. Schechter enjoys practicing medical optometry focusing on dry eyes, diabetes and glaucoma. One of Dr. Schechter's favorite technologies is neurolens because in addition to helping patients achieve better visual acuity / how well they see, neurolens helps people feel better too.
Despite his passion for treating his patients’ eyes, what really makes him love his job is the interaction with his patients.
His warm personality and friendly smile make his patients feel welcome at Fox Chase Family Eye Care.
Dr. Schechter is a member of the American Optometric Association and attends many lectures and conferences to keep up with the ever-changing science and technology.
He is also a member of Bucks-Montgomery Optometric Society.
In fact, at Fox Chase all of the staff members are required to stay up-to-date on the latest technology to ensure that the patients are getting the best care possible. When not working, Dr. Schechter loves to spend time with his lovely wife and wonderful children.
