We are happy to announce that our practice has recently been recognized by Nicox, Inc. as a part of their national Diagnostic Leadership Program. This recognition is the result of our practice’s commitment to the latest technology available in eye care to enhance our patient’s experience.
Additionally, we now have a new tool in our practice to help better identify the cause of a patient’s red or pink eyes. In the past many doctors had to rely on how the eye looked, and how the patient felt to figure out what was causing the redness, or “pink eye”.
Today, our practice has a new tool called AdenoPlus® which is a simple in office test that quickly helps us identify if there is an infection from a specific virus called Adenovirus. Adenovirus is a common, but very contagious cause of red or pink eyes and does not respond to antibiotics. It is important to know if this virus is the cause, because infected patients should remain away from work or school until the infection is gone.
If you or a family member is experiencing a red or pink eye, don’t hesitate to contact our office for an appointment!
